Beside him, a flutist sits in focused calm, the long flute across his lips, drawing out a melody that seems to float through the entire composition. Their bodies, clothing, and instruments dissolve into a dense field of geometric pattern – circles, triangles, chevrons, and tribal motifs in teal, turquoise, violet, coral, and deep blue.
Angu Walters paints African musicians as living rhythm. The scene is both figurative and abstract, grounded in village music yet electric with contemporary color and movement. You can almost hear the conversation between drum and flute.
