First Friday Hiatus?

It’s been reported that First Friday will not be held these next 2 months and will resume in October. This appears principally to affect the street festival aspect of the event.

The Arts Factory will be open as usual, as will the Joseph Watson Collection, as will our own humble space.

So, if you’ve been putting off coming to see us because of the difficulty of parking on First Fridays, now is your chance to come by when everything is much calmer.

We hope to see you Friday, August 5!

On display at The Arts Factory

In case you’ll be in the area on Saturday evening – July 8, 2011 – the paintings will be on display during an event inside the Joseph Watson Collection at The Arts Factory.

Location: the corner of Charleston and Main. We hope to see you!

Enjoy viewing both the Cameroon paintings and paintings by Joseph Watson. We’ll be there from 5-8pm.

Also, be aware that at any time the Joseph Watson Collection is open, then you are welcome to come in and see the Cameroon paintings. You can make a purchase through the JWC staff.

First Friday Art Show

It’s another First Friday coming up. We hope to see you at The Arts Factory, at the corner of Main and Charleston, between about 6 and 10. Come early for easy parking.

Look for us on the ground floor in back of the Joseph Watson Collection. If you have visited before, remember, we have lots of new paintings now, newly arrived from Africa.

Also, please notice that in the new web site, you can go to the detail page for any painting and, at the bottom of the page, add your comment or question about that artwork. We hope to see some discussions about the different paintings and you could help to get that started just by posting your thoughts about the paintings that you feel the most drawn to.

New Website + New Facebook page

We’ve been working on the new site for a while now and, even though some of the paintings have yet to be included here… we just can’t wait any longer!

In the new site, you can now add a comment (or make an inquiry) about any painting just by using the form at the bottom of the painting’s detail page. We look forward to your comments!

Don’t forget to LIKE us on Facebook, just click on the icon over at the right side of any page and then click the Like button you find over at the Facebook site. And please sign on to our mailing list.

We are hoping that sometime soon Angu Walters will be able to make a personal visit to the USA. He’s only ever traveled one time before, and that was to The Netherlands, so this will be a big adventure for him and a great opportunity for you to meet the artist in person. If you Like us and you subscribe to the mailing list, then you will be assured of learning about his trip in advance.

The old site was up for three years and we’ll sort of miss that one, but we’re very excited about the new site. We hope you like it as much as we do.

27 New Paintings!

We have been selling more and more of Angu Walters’ paintings, recently, and so he sent another roll of 27 paintings. Some are from a couple years back and one was painted as recently as just days before he shipped them. You can find them here, mostly nearer the top of the page.

All Paintings in Las Vegas

Angu pays $400 every time he ships a roll of paintings, but this time it certainly was worthwhile because two of them sold immediately the same day they arrived.

There are many more remaining and we hope to see you at First Friday. Or we can arrange for you to see them at other times, either at The Arts Factory or by special arrangement elsewhere.

New Painting in Progress

Angu Walters reports being totally immersed in the completion of this painting.

We thought you might be interested to see an incomplete painting.

We are intrigued, also, by that painting of a bird over on the right!

Angu sent along these photos of some t-shirts that he has hand-painted.

He says that it’s likely he will not paint very many of these as it takes quite a long time. He’s going to concentrate on actual paintings, instead!
