First Friday Hiatus?

First Friday Hiatus?

It’s been reported that First Friday will not be held these next 2 months and will resume in October. This appears principally to affect the street festival aspect of the event. The Arts Factory will be open as usual, as will the Joseph Watson Collection, as will our own humble space. So, if you’ve been putting off coming to see us because of the difficulty of parking on First Fridays, now is your chance to come by when everything is much calmer. We hope to see you Friday, August...

In case you’ll be in the area on Saturday evening – July 8, 2011 – the paintings will be on display during an event inside the Joseph Watson Collection at The Arts Factory. Also, be aware that at any time the Joseph Watson Collection is open, then you are welcome to come in and see the Cameroon paintings. You can make a purchase through the JWC staff. 27 New Paintings!

27 New Paintings!

We have been selling more and more of Angu Walters’ paintings, recently, and so he sent another roll of 27 paintings. Some are from a couple years back and one was painted as recently as just days before he shipped them. You can find them here, mostly nearer the top of the page. All Paintings in Las Vegas Angu pays $400 every time he ships a roll of paintings, but this time it certainly was worthwhile because two of them sold immediately the same day they arrived. There are many more remaining and we hope to see you at First Friday. Or we can arrange for you to see them at other times,...

New Painting in Progress

Angu Walters reports being totally immersed in the completion of this painting. We thought you might be interested to see an incomplete painting. We are intrigued, also, by that painting of a bird over on the right!

Hand-Painted t-shirts!

Angu sent along these photos of some t-shirts that he has hand-painted. He says that it’s likely he will not paint very many of these as it takes quite a long time. He’s going to concentrate on actual paintings, instead!

Another First Friday

Another First Friday

We sure had a lot of positive comments at First Friday the other night. Everybody is so amazed by the paintings. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, nothing sold. We are planning to produce posters and offer those for sale in time for next month’s event. These would cost about $25. Affordable for everybody. Among the supporters who showed up to help, were John of Las Vegas Window Replacements and Las Vegas artist Cordayo Knapp. The group photo below includes Las Vegas artist Mitchell Todd Buckner. Oh, and the meetup last Wednesday at Montesanos Italian Restaurant went very well....

Wednesday Meet-Up

Wednesday Meet-Up

If you’re local to Las Vegas then you’re invited to attend a little meet-up this Wednesday afternoon 2pm-4pm at Montesano’s Italian Restaurant, located on Eastern Ave. near the 215. www.Montesanos.com. I’m showing Angu Walters’ paintings to an art dealer, the friend of a friend, who has only seen his work on the web site. She is eager to see them in person and then to help Angu on his way toward the fame and fortune which are his due. Other friends who helped me prepare for First Friday have been invited to be there as well and by now this has blossomed into a...

Angu’s first First Friday

Angu’s first First Friday

Many people saw the paintings last night at The Arts Factory. I have no idea what were the numbers but it was a big number. It was so exhausting talking to them during the four hour event. I had some help from friends, thankfully, or I would never have got through it. I’m sure that by the end of the evening, some people must have wondered if I was drunk. Well, if any of you wondering that are reading this, let me assure you that was certainly NOT the case. (Later on, well, maybe a little, yeah…) So many people were so impressed by the art. Several even remarked that this was the...

The Arts Factory

As you may know, we were seriously thinking of leasing for six months a display room / office at The Arts Factory (near the Stratosphere). But we lost our nerve and decided instead to rent a wall. It’s month-to-month and we hope to sell enough paintings soon to cover the cost of leasing that room we want – before somebody else snags it! So, yesterday we paid for the month and filled Angu’s wall with paintings in time for Preview Thursday. The first Friday of every month is the big arts celebration here in Las Vegas. It’s called… First Friday. Many thousands of...
